Week 6 - Daniel Correia
This week we focused on the making of our workshop.
Initially, knowing that we would do a remote workshop, we had some trouble thinking about what would be the best activities to try, we did have some ideas although some of them seemed not feasible, for example, we wanted to try the boardgame “Magic Maze” that also depends on limited communication but a lot of cooperation to win. This would be a nice game to familiarize the participants with each other and with our desired game, but it would be hard to make it work remotely and have the participants understand the rules in the limited time we had. We also thought about using card sorting to contextualize the participants with our game and maybe help us understand how they viewed our game to be. But after some feedback we understood it might not be as helpful as we thought.
In the end, after some discussions and everyone having to think up of new ideas we came with a nice workshop plan.
Now we just got to test it with the participants, which we will do later today and tomorrow, to see how much it will help in our game design.
