Week 7 - Daniel Correia
This week we made 2 workshop sessions. Overall, they went well, and we got some new ideas for our game. We then had to review the results and compile them into a document. For this we first discussed in group what were the best ideas and the ones we thought were good or should be taken into consideration. Afterwards we divided the workshop into parts and each of us compiled the results regarding our assigned part. I was tasked to compile the results gotten from the specific questions (What games feel similar to Deuce’s Tower and what the participants liked the most in our game). We then reviewed everyone’s work and consolidated into the workshop report.
We then had to update our design document, each of us worked on some part of the document. I was mostly working on updating the gameplay loops and adding some new images.
After having delivered the first part of this assignment, we started working on the prototypes. I had previously worked on the multiplayer part in unity, now I was tasked on working with isometric grids and also implement our turn-based logic together with multiplayer. With this I have to take into consideration that when each player pings, the other player should immediately receive the ping, but for the actions, each player should be able to choose an movement and an ability and only when both players have chosen, each has to activate them in a certain order.
